 The SEPAG meeting that was originally scheduled for February 8th has been cancelled.  Further updates will follow.

There will be no SEPAG (Special Education Parent Advisory Group) this month. We will have a presenter in January regarding mindfulness, and stress and anxiety in students. Please be on the lookout on-line, through the mail or in your child's take-home folder for more information regarding this evening event.

The first SEPAG (special education parent advisory group) meeting date has been CHANGED.  It will be on 10/26 at 7:00pm in the Gateway library.

Common Core State Standards for Parents and Families

The state department of education has posted materials on the Common Core State Standards page at www.state.nj.us/education/sca/toolkit/ and described below:


1.      CCSS for Parents and Families: OverviewThis 2-page document provides basic facts about the standards and how they are being implemented in schools.

2.      CCSS for Parents and Families: Myths & FactsThis 2-page document addresses common misconceptions about the CCSS.

3.      CCSS for Parents and Families: ResourcesThis 2-page document includes an annotated, categorized list of online resources that explain and exemplify the standards.

4.      CCSS Brochure for Parents and FamiliesThis tri-fold brochure includes a basic explanation of the CCSS and remarks from major stakeholders who support the standards, including the NJEA, NJPSA, PTA, business and higher education communities, etc.
